Nestlé Ice Cream is running its kids’ recipe contest again, dangling a grand-prize trip to its headquarters as “flavorologist” for a day.
Parent company Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream Holdings invites kids six to 12 to submit a frozen-pop recipe idea (and name, and shape) and their resume for the flavorologist job online or via mail by July 28. Nestlé will choose 10 winners who’ll visit the brand’s Bakersfield, CA factory in October to meet the R&D staff, whip up a batch of their frozen pop recipe, and sample crazy flavors like pickle or macaroni & cheese.
The 10 winners also get an ice cream party for their schools, a $1,000 savings bond and a year’s supply of Nestlé Ice Cream. Curriculum materials, available at Kids.icecream.com, encourages teachers to have students enter the Be a Flavorologist for a Day contest. Dreyer’s handles the contest in-house.
