Verizon Presenting Dave Matthews Band Island Getaway
Verizon has signed on as the presenting sponsor of Dave Matthews Band Island Getaway, which will be held July 30-31 on Randall’s Island, New York.
The two-day concert will include Dave Matthews Band along with Black Eyed Peas, Barenaked Ladies, Robert Randolph and The Family Band, Ray Lamontagne, Jem and Mike Doughty.
The communications provider plans to engage consumers through pre-event contests and promotions, on-site product placement and sampling, VIP benefits and post-event marketing. In addition, Verizon DSL customers will have access to a microsite featuring online content from Dave Matthews Band, Verizon spokesman John Bonomo said.
Verizon will also hold yet to be disclosed on-site events that will be exclusive to its customers and have an on-site media center that its DSL service customers can use. Verizon is also considering using concert tickets as a sales incentive for its call center employees, though details have not been hammered out.
