Thrifty Drives Business with Triple Miles Incentive

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

Thrifty Car Rental is trying to boost rental rates by offering triple miles rewards to frequent flyers of eight airlines for the next several months.

The deal requires a three-day rental of a mid-sized car or larger vehicle. American, Delta, Northwest, United, Continental, Alaska, ATA and US Airways airlines are participating.

The incentive, which runs through May 15, is aimed at pumping up rentals during the slower pre-summer holiday period.

“It generates a lot of activity,” said Chris Payne, spokesman for the Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group. “We tend to do [promotions] when we need the business more.”

A similar program is starting with Dollar Rent A Car as well, according to Payne. That program runs through March.

To reserve a qualifying rental, customers must make an online reservation at www.thrifty.com or www.dtag.com using the code TH8S. All rentals must be booked in advance.
