CBS, Freemantle Make ‘Price Is Right’ Interactive

CBS and Freemantle Enterprises have launched a mobile “Win-At-Home” version of the popular TV program “The Price is Right.”

In a 10-week campaign that commenced on Oct. 13, viewers of the long-running CBS game show will have a shot at winning prizes three times weekly via telephone with no transaction charge.

During broadcast episodes of the show, viewers will be shown a prize and encouraged to call a toll-free number to participate in the “Win-At-Home” game. They will see three different manufacturer’s suggested retail price options for the item, and will be prompted to select the one they think is closest to the item’s actual retail price. Callers who select the correct answer are entered in a sweepstakes to win the item.

After playing the game, all players will then hear special offers at the end of the call for the option to purchase items tailored to the show’s target audience.

“When you watch “The Price Is Right,” you can’t help but play along in your head. Now viewers will get a chance to play and potentially win the same types of prizes right from the comfort of their living room,” said Jeff Sellinger, executive vice president and general manager, CBS Mobile, in a release.

Each entry periods for the sweepstakes begin at 8 a.m. (PT) and ends at 11:59 p.m. (PT) the same day that the episode airs.

Full episodes of the show will be accessible at CBS.com for up to two weeks after each episode’s original broadcast date.
