ValueAct Acquires Catalina Marketing for $1.7 Billion

ValueAct Capital will acquire Catalina Marketing Corp. for $1.7 billion.

Under the terms of the agreement, Catalina stockholders will receive $32.10 in cash for each outstanding share of stock.

The transaction is expected to close in the next several months.

The St. Petersburg, FL firm said it can solicit or entertain alternative proposals from third parties during the next 45 days.
