United Parcel Service has instituted a package intercept and rerouting service — for shippers to designate a new delivery address while a package is still in its transit network.
Shippers can access the service online to change package delivery addresses. Packages can also be returned to the shipper or held for delivery on a future date. Each package intercept will cost $10.
“With UPS delivery intercept, shippers receive an unprecedented level of control of packages, enabling them to avoid mistakes that could cost money or impact customer service,” said in a statement Kurt Kuehn, UPS senior vice president of worldwide sales and marketing.
