The concerts are an extension of Pontiac’s Designed for Action ad campaign, which showcases up and coming bands through its Virgin Megastores partnership, Hopson said.
Unrelated to the Kimmel deal, the automaker kicked off Pontiac Garage East yesterday with an event in New York’s Times Square with a surprise performance by platinum-selling rock group Jet. The concert was part of a larger event, Pontiac’s Summer Solstice, which featured performances by up and coming bands at Virgin Megastores— Vacations, Kinky, and Citizen Cope— the placement of Pontiac Solstices two-seat sports coupes along Times Square.
