Penobscot Indian MO Pharmacy Sold

The Penobscot Indian Nation has sold PIN Rx, its troubled mail-order pharmacy, to I Care Pharmacy, a company that plans to relocate the operation elsewhere in Maine, according to wire service reports.

PIN Rx, which said it would close last month, is under investigation by the state for allegedly dispensing $3 million worth of drugs, including controlled substances, without verifying prescriptions last year.

I Care said it would bring 40 jobs and a $9 million investment to Aroostook County in the north of the state. Eventually, the company hopes to create a warehouse and distribution center.
