New Site Helps CRM Pros Build Relationships—For Themselves

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

A new Web site aims to help customer relationship management experts build bonds to help their own careers.

MyCRMCareer.com launched last month at Gartner’s CRM Summit in Hollywood, FL. The site, says co-founder Ted Hartley, is centered around the “4 Cs” of community, content, competency and career.

Where a site like MySpace serves a social networking purpose, and a site like Monster serves a career search purpose, Hartley says this site will serve as “integrated” resource for CRM professionals.

Once members sign up, they can create a profile and get own personal home page. Other members can search, view and comment on the user generated content, which could include presentations, white papers, articles videos, podcasts. “It’s a way for professionals to showcase their talents,” says Hartley.

The concept isn’t restrained to CRM, he notes. “All types of professionals that want to interact and distribute user generated content and showcase talents need a way to further their career in a vertical segmented marketplace.”

Not a lot of promotion beyond handing out cards at the CRM Summit inviting people to join has been done yet, says Hartley. So far, the site has about 300 registered members in 30 countries. And MyCRMCareer does have partnership arrangements with the Customer Relationship Management Association and Customers Forever, a Latin CRM organization.
