Third quarter interactive advertising revenues exceeded an estimated $5.2 billion, according to data from the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) and PricewaterhouseCoopers LLC.

That’s a $1.1 billion or 25% increase compared to interactive advertising revenues in the third quarter of 2006. The IAB reported that Interactive advertising revenues increased 3% since the second quarter of this year.

“The emergence of new platforms, including broadband video, Internet applications, mobile and social media promise to deliver new benefits for consumers, and create exciting new venues for marketers,” said in a statement Peter Petrusky, director of the entertainment, media and communications practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers.

All three quarter of 2007 have set new records for interactive advertising. Revenues for the first nine months of this year totaled $15.2 billion, up nearly 26% compared to the first nine months of 2006, according to the IAB.
