Country Home Takes Manhattan

Country Home Magazine brings its October issue to Central Park with a one-day festival and a concert by Mary Chapin Carpenter.

The event is sponsored by KitchenAid, Wish-Bone salad dressing and W Hotels. KitchenAid will provide a state-of-the-art display kitchen where celebrity chefs give demos. Wish-Bone will demo cooking tips using salad dressing. W Hotels will offer travel packages as the preferred hotel for the event.

The Oct. 1 event, called Be Creative New York!, includes demos and performances by a slate of stylists, including Shabby Chic founder Rachel Ashwell (holiday tabletop and hosting tips), caterer Serena Bass; and TV hosts Leslie Segrete (TLC’s While You Were Out), Katie Brown (A&E’s All Year Round). Pavilions are modeled on the magazine’s departments, including The Nest (house projects), Shopgirl (home repairs), The Dish (recipes and entertaining) and Here & Now (new products). This is the first time Country Home has done a live event in New York.

Country Home touts the event via house ads in each monthly issue from June to October, and through its Web site, Countryhome.com. Tickets are $10 at the door; $25 in advance, for VIP passes and a gift bag.
