Chock full o’Nuts is celebrating its 75th anniversary with a singing contest that will put a new voice in its radio ads.
The coffee brand will let consumers help pick the winner of its “Chock full o’Nuts Singer Wanted” contest this spring. The winner gets $75,000 and a recording session for the brand.
Entrants submit a 30-second audio clip of themselves singing the coffee’s longtime jingle. Chock full o’Nuts marketer Massimo Zanetti Beverage USA will pick 40 finalists to post on its Web site over the course of five weeks. Popular vote will chose the winner.
Singers have until March 1 to submit their clips at ChockFullONuts.com before voting begins Feb. 25. Each week, 10 finalists will be posted and the top vote-getter will remain up on the site for a second round of voting. After four weeks, consumers will choose the overall winner from among the four weekly winners.
Site visitors are automatically entered in a sweeps each time they vote. Sweeps prizes include a trip to New York City for a Radio City Music Hall concert and a home entertainment system.
Online voting wraps up on March 31. Circle One Marketing, Norwalk, CT, handles the contest and sweeps for Rye, NY-based Massimo Zanetti.
