Chase Sweeps Dangles $1 Million Prize

Chase is dangling a $1 million prize for new customers in the New York tri-state area who deposit at least $500 into a new checking account through Aug. 12.

But there’s a catch: The consumer chosen at random must serve a tennis ball and have it hit a 12-inch Chase logo in front of several thousand fans between the U.S. Open men’s doubles final and the women’s singles semifinals on Sept. 9.

If the consumer misses the logo while competing in the Million-Dollar Serve sweepstakes, he or she will still win $10,000 and receive four courtside tickets to the women’s singles semi-finals matches.

“We see the Million-Dollar Serve as a great way for our customers and the spectators to share in the excitement of the U.S. Open and of Chase,” said John Quinn, head of retail banking in the New York Tri-state area for Chase, in a statement.

New customers making the minimum $500 deposit in a Chase Free Checking with Direct Deposit accounts are automatically entered into the sweepstakes, and also receive two tickets to the U.S. Open.

Chase, the consumer and commercial banking branch of JPMorgan Chase & Co., is a sponsor of both the U.S. Open and the USTA National Tennis Center in Flushing, NY, where the event is held.
