ADVERTISING: Interpublic Links Agencies

The Interpublic Group of Cos. has merged Hill Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulos and Goldberg Moser O’Neill. With the combined operations, the new agency will have billings of more than $1.2 billion, nearly 1,000 employees and a client list that includes some of the biggest brands in the world. The operations will be renamed GMO/Hill Holliday. Jack Connors Jr., chairman of Hill Holliday, will serve as chairman and CEO of the new entity. GMO chairman and CEO Fred Goldberg will become chairman of GMO/Hill Holliday, in keeping with his plan to reduce his day-to-day involvement in the business by year’s end. The new agency’s principal offices will be in Boston, San Francisco and New York. The Boston and New York offices will continue to be called Hill Holliday.
