Yep, It’s an Interactive Campaign

RC COLA HAS teamed up with the cartoon “King of the Hill” for an online contest and point-of-purchase sweepstakes.

The “Who Said That?” game was promoted online via banner ads on sites like TV Guide Online from April 26 through May 25. Players were asked to register and then guess which “King” character said a phrase from the show. Winners received T-shirts, coupons and a book based on the show, “That Boy Ain’t Right.”

The game pages featured banner ads for RC’s American Dream Sweepstakes, directing visitors to store displays for more details.

The page thanking visitors for playing “Who Said That?” included a link to the home page for RC’s RC Edge cola (www.rcedge.com), where users can enter a poem-writing contest. The registration form has the most straightforward e-mail opt-out line we’ve seen yet: “Are you kidding? I don’t need your crap in my mailbox.”

There’s also a link to the Fox network’s online store, which offers T-shirts, posters and other merchandise from “King of the Hill” and other Fox programs.

Unfortunately, as Hank Hill himself laments, propane and propane accessories are not available. -BN
