Williams-Sonoma Plans To Buy Levi’s Offices

Williams-Sonoma Inc. will buy the Ice House from Levi Strauss & Co., according to a report in the San Francisco Examiner.

The San Francisco-based cataloger and e-tailer said it needs the historically significant property to expand its office space. It plans to keep its corporate headquarters at 3250 Van Ness Ave.

Levi Strauss, which closed its own catalog late last year, has been suffering from declining sales. Founded in San Francisco in the Gold Rush, the sale unloads the last two office buildings it owns in San Francisco.

The purchase price was not disclosed by either company. The property was listed at $70 million and is rumored to have been sold for more than the market price.
