Vibes Media, the leading provider of interactive text message and mobile content marketing programs, reported that it crossed a significant industry milestone this week when it processed its 200 millionth mobile message.
A year ago, Vibes passed the 100 million-message mark, which took four years to achieve. The company has grown from 27 to 45 employees over the period. Vibes has executed more than 7,500 programs in the U.S., drawing more than 18 million participants.
Vibes CEO Alex Campbell attributed its rapid growth to growing industry adoption of mobile as an effective marketing medium. A recent trend has been mobile campaigns evolving from primarily text-based to include a wide variety of interactive content.
“Consumers are looking for ways to interact with their favorite brands and have really caught on to mobile as a way to do that on their own terms,” Campbell said, in a statement.
Vibes’s campaigns generally are triggered by the consumer, who typically responds to a call-to-action delivered via radio, television, outdoor, product packaging or other media.
This approach, according to Vibes, eliminates mobile spam, and is more effective at eliciting consumer response. Of the 200 million messages processed by Vibes’ systems, more than 76 million, or 38%, were originated by consumers themselves.
