Veteran GM Exec Joins Interpublic to Work on GM

A veteran of General Motors has joined The Interpublic Group to work on GM marketing efforts.

Martin Walsh, 56, had worked for GM for 33 years, most recently as general manager for GM’s Hummer division. His work there also included, five years as general director of marketing for Cadillac, and executive director of vehicle sales and marketing for GM Mexico.

At The Interpublic Group, Walsh will hold a newly created position that will coordinate GM marketing efforts across different GM units and give GM a central point of contact., the marketing agency said.

Walsh will report directly to Interpublic Chairman and CEO Michael Roth.
