The United States Olympic Committee has promoted Jim Grice to chief marketing officer, effective immediately.
In his new role, Grice will be responsible for overseeing the two largest revenue-generating divisions within the organization: sales and marketing and entertainment properties. He had been chief of sales and marketing and has held several positions in 14 years with USOC.
In addition to generating revenue to prepare America’s athletes for Olympic, Paralympic and Pan America Games, the thrust of his responsibilities lie in servicing approximately 100 U.S. Olympic sponsors, suppliers, licensees and broadcast partners that support the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Teams.
Grice will also continue to manage the relationship with sports marketing agencies in developing sponsorship packages and proposals.
USOC’s sales and marketing division departments include corporate sales, partnership marketing, consumer products, brand development, marketing services and events. The departments within the entertainment properties division are broadcasting, Olympic properties, Internet and NGB marketing, footage licensing and video production.
