TVGuide.com Stages Contest for Advertisers

TVGuide.com has begun a contest for top advertisers to raise awareness of the site. The winner gets a Hollywood-style star treatment for a day.

One hundred of the top media planners and buyers in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut have been nominated by TVGuide.com to participate in the contest, “TVGuide.com’s Plannerati,” which ends Nov. 12.

The participants must complete a personal profile that highlight their strengths and why they deserve to win. They can earn points when others go online and vote for them. On November 13, the winner who earns the most points will be announced and will redeem the grand prize of 24-hour celebrity treatment during the week of Nov. 16.

The grand prize includes chauffeurs, stylists, makeovers and a night on the town with a cast member from Lionsgate’s Emmy winning AMC drama “Mad Men.”

“We wanted to create a unique opportunity that will engage the advertising community with the same level of passion and enthusiasm we’ve been able to generate with consumers on our site,” said Richy Glassberg, Executive Vice President, National Advertising Sales, TV Guide Network and TVGuide.com. “This contest not only gives us the opportunity to expand our relationships in the industry but also recognize excellence in the field.”

The promotion, called “The Plannerati” can be followed on twitter.

TVGuide.com reaches 20 million unique users per month.
