TP Tweeting

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

Listen closely. Hear that? It’s the sound of savings. Coupons Inc. quietly began twittering in March and now has 5,000 followers.

Subscribers are notified of new coupon offers no more than every two hours up to five times a day.

For example, on July 12 at 2:24 a.m. subscribers received a notification for $1 off Scott Extra Soft Tissue, along with two other coupons and the URL to print them. People follow the feed at twitter.com/coupons.

“Twitter is an example of our real-time notification engine, where people can be alerted to things almost in real time,” says Coupons.com CEO Steven Boal. “They can do it based on preferences and how much information they want. It’s highly user controllable.”
