The definition of the drive-thru window just soared to new heights.
Via a partnership between AirTran Airways, The Coca-Cola Co. and Wendy’s International, Inc., a Boeing 737 taxied through a specially designed Wendy’s drive thru to bring attention to a new airline miles promotion.
The Round Trip Refreshment promotion targets Wendy’s customers with a chance to earn credits toward a free flight on AirTran. After refueling last week at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, the aircraft rolled up to the drive-thru window and the captain ordered food and beverages that were passed though the cockpit window.
Diners at Wendy’s collect specially marked 20-ounce and 32-ounce cups of Coca-Cola products that feature an AirTran Airways flight coupon. The coupons can be redeemed for flyer credits as part of AirTran’s A+ Rewards program. For 32 round-trip coupons, the customer gets one free flight.
The promotion is being touted on 80 million cups at about 3,200 Wendy’s locations. The campaign ends Dec. 31.
