Current Checks, Colorado Springs, CO, a provider of direct-to-consumer checks, has changed its name to Direct Checks Unlimited and will market to consumers and small businesses under the “Checks Unlimited” brand. According to a statement, the company feels the new brand better reflects the company’s focus — providing a complete collection of licensed image and specialty check designs direct to consumers.

Ronald N. Zebeck, president and CEO of Metris Companies Inc., St. Louis Park, MN, has been elected chairman of MasterCard International’s U.S. Board of Directors. Zebeck will help direct the activities of the U.S. Board for the next year. During the past decade, Zebeck has held several positions in MasterCard’s corporate governance. Metris Companies Inc. is an information-based direct marketer of consumer credit products and fee-based services which primarily targets moderate-income consumers.
