Bob Myers has been named CEO of Shelpers Western Wear, an apparel marketer.
Myers is taking over from Dennis O’Brien. O’Brien has been serving as interim CEO since September 2009. O’Brien is operating partner at Gryphon Investors, Sheplers’ parent company.
Myers as at QVC Inc. for over eight years, where he served most recently as senior VP of QVC.com, multi-media platforms, broadcast operations and technology.
Prior to that, Myers spent 15 years working in store operations, merchandising, advertising and strategic planning at JCPenney and Co., Inc., where he became merchandise director in 1999.
Myers holds a bachelor’s degree in Business from Buffalo State University, as well as an Associates Degree in Computer Science. He serves on the board of Shop.org.
“Bob brings a terrific combination of traditional bricks and mortar retail experience as well as a very successful track-record for developing and building successful e-commerce franchises, both at JCPenney and at QVC,” said O’Brien in a statement.
