Room of Their Own

DraftWorldwide’s New York office became the latest agency to opt for customized surroundings by sending its 400 employees 14 blocks north to an 111,000 square-foot facility at 919 Third Avenue on Manhattan’s upper East Side. The company had called 633 Third Avenue home for the last 10 years.

The custom-designed space occupies five contiguous floors and features a three-story atrium ringed on each level by conference rooms. The lobby features an espresso bar, proceeds from which will benefit a camp for families affected by AIDS.

Alcone Marketing Group of Irvine, CA, opened a state-of-the-art East Coast office in Darien, CT, last summer. The 50,000 square-foot facility features vaulted ceilings, an in-house gym, and “client villages” and “war rooms” that organize the space by client instead of department. Einson Freeman also migrated to new customized space last year, and Flair Communications is preparing to open a new addition to its Chicago headquarters.
