Red Roof Inn Goes Country in New Campaign

Red Roof Inn is playing a new tune to appeal to country music fans under a fresh campaign with television network Great American Country.

The economy hotel chain has kicked off its “Red Roof Loves Country Road Trips” promotion, which leverages star power from country singer Phil Vassar and group Little Big Town as brand ambassadors. The effort features the artists on the microsite www.RedRoofLovesCountry.com in music videos and in interview shorts, which Rink Entertainment created.

Vassar and Little Big Town will also be featured on posters with tour schedule information and Red Roof Inn locations. In addition, guests who stay at Red Roof can listen to Vassar and the band when they request wake up calls, or are placed on hold. The chain will also host appearances by Vassar at select locations with a meet and greet for fans.

Emerging country music band King Billy will also participate. It will be featured in a Great American Country Shortcuts segment and on-air content with Red Roof branding. The band will also stay at Red Roof Inns during their tour.

The campaign is a first of its kind for Red Roof, the company said.

The effort also ties in various promotions and contests on 250 radio stations. Red Roof Inn is also running a separate sweepstakes of its own, the Easy Livin’ Sweepstakes, which offers the chance to win gas cards, mortgage payments for a year, free hotel stays and the grand prize, a Toyota Prius Hybrid. People receive any entry with every Red Roof stay through Sept. 30.

In-hotel signage and online marketing support the campaign. TV spots featuring Vassar and Little Big Town began airing last week.
