Rainmaker Expands Lead Generation With Acquisition of CAS Systems

The marketing services firm Rainmaker Systems Inc. has acquired CAS Systems Inc., a telemarketing lead generation firm with call centers located in Oakland, CA and Montreal, Canada.

Rainmaker paid $2 million in cash at closing and is committed to pay another $2 million plus 5.3% interest over the next three years. In addition, Rainmaker is expected to pay up to $1 million more if CAS meets certain performance benchmarks within the next 12 months.

Privately held CAS reported $7 million in unaudited revenues in 2006. Its business-to-business clients include financial services and technology companies. Roughly 130 employees of CAS now work for Rainmaker.

“CAS Systems has been a strong direct competitor of our growing lead generation business,” said in a statement Michael Silton, CEO of Rainmaker, based in Campbell, CA. “This acquisition significantly increases the scale of our lead generation operations.”

In the last two years, Rainmaker has acquired ViewCentral, Sunset Direct, Launch Project and Metrics Corp.
