Procter & Gamble Sales Jump

Procter & Gamble reported first-quarter sales increased 13% to $12.2 billion compared to $10.8 billion one year ago.

Sales increases were seen in all of the consumer products segments including snacks and beverages, beauty care, fabric and home care, baby and family care and health care. The quarter ended Sept. 30.

The company said marketing investments were made to drive growth in the base business and in support of Prilosec OTC, Crest Whitestrips, Night Effects, Olay Regenerist and Swiffer.
