PRIMEDIA Consolidates Consumer Files at Direct Media

PRIMEDIA Consumer Media has consolidated management of its consumer lists with Direct Media Inc. The appointment takes effect April 1.

The files include American Baby, Soap Opera Digest, New York Magazine, Chicago Magazine, Teen and Seventeen.

In addition to managing the individual files, Direct Media plans to create a 40-million active and expired subscriber enhanced database from the files. The database will be enhanced with data from Infobase, said Ed Bocknik, group president of Direct Media list management.

The files had been managed by five companies: American List Counsel, Princeton, NJ, Chilcutt Direct Marketing, Oklahoma City, OK, L90 Inc., Los Angeles, The Lake Group, Rye, NY, and MSGi Direct, New York.

Direct Media is based in Greenwich, CT.
