WYNDHAM HOTEL GROUP: is rewarding members of its loyalty program, TripRewards, with additional points for staying twice in any of its affiliated hotels. Members will earn bonus points for two separate stays at Ramada, Super 8, Days Inn, Wingate Inn, Baymount Inn & Suites, Howard Johnson, AmeriHost or Knights Inn in the U.S. and Canada and Travelodge Hotels in the U.S. Points can be redeemed at TripRewards.com for a $25 gift card at Olive Garden, Chili’s, Macy’s, Target and Best Buy. THE CHICAGO TRIBUNE: has debuted a new look and Web site featuring new offers and benefits as part of Subscriber Advantage, a loyalty program it launched in 2005 for its newspaper subscribers. The program launched in 2005 and now has 185,000 subscribers. Benefits include a seven-day browse of the newspaper, archive searches, advertiser discounts, special event invitations and interactive Sudoku and crossword puzzles.

COMDATA CORP.: a company that offers electronic payment services for the transportation, retail, restaurant and hospitality industries, providing gift cards and stored value services, has acquired HQ Gift Cards, LLC., a Culver City-based provider of mall gift card program management services. HQ Gift Cards, which currently oversees gift card operations in over 200 malls nationwide, will be integrated into Comdata’s Stored Value Solutions division, located in Louisville, KY. Comdata has more than 300 customers with gift card solutions: card production and management, transaction processing, and loyalty programs. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Comdata is a wholly owned subsidiary of Ceridian Corp., the company said.

LOYALTY LAB: San Francisco, has hired David Rosen as executive VP overseeing customer strategy and business development for the loyalty marketing firm. Rosen had been senior VP at online direct-marketer MyPoints, supervising customer acquisition, relationship marketing, strategic analytics and MyPoints’ retail shopping program.
