Papa John’s has kicked off a marketing deal with GameFly to drive trial of its online video game rental service and its products.
Customers who sign up for a 15-day free trial GameFly membership will receive a $10 Papa John’s gift card for online orders.
The company will promote the offer on 24 million box tops and online at GameFly.com/PapaJohns and PapaJohns.com. In addition, Papa John’s will send e-mails to its millions of subscribers promoting the partnership.
GameFly will drive traffic to PapaJohns.com with a coupon for subscribers on its video return envelopes.
“Pizza and video games naturally go together,” said Michael Cordy, Papa John’s director of partnership development, in a statement.
PapaJohn’s has forged a number of other marketing alliances with entertainment properties. On its Web site, the company is currently offering a two-week trial of Blockbuster Total Access, an online video rental service and $10 off a future order and a $10.40 Papa Card gift card to customers who complete their federal taxes with TaxCut Online.
