First Niagara Bank acknowledges high gas prices with a summer promotion giving away gas.
The Free Checking Free Gas campaign gives gift cards to consumers who open a Totally Free Checking account. Customers who opt for direct deposit into their account are automatically entered in a sweepstakes drawing awarding $500 in free gas, enough for three months.
The campaign runs through Sept. 4, with P-O-P, direct mail and outdoor, print and radio ad support. SVM Inc., Des Plaines, IL, handles the gift cards for Lockport, NY-based First Niagara.
