Nordstrom, Inc. reported sales of $1 billion for the five-weeks ended Jan. 1, up 11.7% from $936.2 million last year. The Seattle-based direct marketer and retailer reported preliminary quarter-to-date sales of $1.7 billion, up 9.5% from 1.6 billion last year.
