Nickelodeon, Viacom Ups Haider to SVP Consumer Products

Nickelodeon & Viacom International Consumer Products have promoted Tanya Haider to senior VP. The new position went into effect yesterday.

Haider previously worked as VP-Nickelodeon & Viacom International Consumer Products. She was credited for establishing merchandising operations in China and Japan and doubling the company’s consumer product business overseas in 2005.

“Tanya Haider has been instrumental in developing and growing Viacom’s portfolio internationally,” said Leigh Anne Brodsky, president of Nickelodeon & Viacom Consumer Products, in a statement. “She is leading a team that is integral to the growth of our business as we continue to expand our popular brands globally and assist in the worldwide expansion of our partners like Paramount and Fisher-Price.”

Prior to joining the company, Haider was VP-strategy and business development, for Nickelodeon Networks, where she worked with Nickelodeon Consumer Products and helped create Nick Records and the renewal of Nick’s videogame business with THQ.

Nickelodeon & Viacom Consumer Products manages the third largest licensing business in the world generating $5 billion in retail sales in 2005 from properties including SpongeBob SquarePants and Dora the Explorer. The department handles merchandising for Nick Jr., Nickelodeon, Paramount Pictures, Comedy Central, MTVN International, and Spike TV.
