Nick Sets Slime Tour to Music, Puts Slime Online

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

Nickelodeon is giving its third annual ‘Slime Across America Tour’ musical accompaniment and interactive green slime features online.

After dumping its signature green slime on more than 40,000 fans last summer, Nick is hitting the road again with BMG recording artists Tiffany Evans and Menudo along for the ride. The tour, which features an 18-wheeler Slime Mobile, is set to hit 10 cities, starting at Chicago’s Navy Pier on June 7.

This year’s Slime Tour will include an iCarly scene pod, where kids can act out a scene from the hit Nick show. At The Naked Brothers Band Karaoke pod, kids can record themselves. Kids can obtain a Slime Pass to download videos of their performances at http://www.nick.com/slime, where the tour schedule is also available.

“‘Slime Across America’ is a great way to give kids and families the hands on experience of Nickelodeon’s most coveted honor of being slimed,” said Pam Kaufman, Nickelodeon chief marketing officer, in a statement.

Philadelphia, Dallas, Atlanta, Detroit, Miami, Los Angeles and San Francisco are its other destinations before the tour wraps up in New York City’s Staten Island and Flushing Meadows Park in August.

Nick’s slime micro-site launched this week with a multi-player game, “3-D-Multi-player Nicktoons Slimeball,” where players can make their mark as virtual slime champs, using avatars of characters from Nick shows. The site also enables kids to create virtual slimings and send them in e-mail messages to friends.

Pushing an eco-friendly profile, Nick’s Slime Mobile now uses biodiesel fuel and solar panels to power its Slime Mobile Virtual Slime Station. And at each of the tours stops, Nick will sponsor a tree planting.
