Nextar Launches New MP3 Player with Music Giveaway

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

Portable electronics maker Nextar today launches a new 4 GB MP3/ MP4 player with a promotion that offers 10 free music downloads to buyers.

The mail-in incentive partners Nextar with the Bon Ton regional department store chain. The program will be advertised through catalogs distributed by 280 stores operated by Bon Ton, including those in the Elder-Beerman, Younkers, Bergners and Carson Pirie Scott chains, and by newspaper ads and in-store advertising.

Consumers who buy the player can fill out a rebate form and send in their sales receipt to receive a card good for 10 free music downloads from Puretracks, a Canadian-based online music service that offers about 1.5 million songs, some of them without digital rights management software. Consumers have until Feb. 15 to mail in their rebates.

The Nextar MA-791 retails for under $100 and can carry 2,000 songs or 32 hours’ worth of video.
