WHEATIES: has put the 2008-09 NBA Champion Los Angeles Lakers on its 15.6-oz box, celebrating the Lakers’ victory over the Orlando Magic in Game 5 of The Finals and the team’s 15th NBA Championship. The commemorative package will be available nationally starting next month. The front of the box features the team lineup, including some of the NBA’s best: Kobe Bryant (also MVP), Pau Gasol, Lamar Odom, Derek Fisher and Trevor Ariza. The 2008-09 championship box marks the second time the Lakers franchise has been featured on a Wheaties box.
SAFEWAY: has begun a campaign to show off its locally grown produce. The “Locally Grown” campaign will highlight partnerships with local farmers such as G&S Farms of Brentwood, CA, a grower of sweet corn and green beans, though premier in-store placement and promotional signs. The promotional materials will include “locally grown” reference maps to show the geographic location of, and stories of, local farmers.
