Newport News, a direct marketer of women’s apparel and home decor, has outsources its email marketing operations to Palo Alto, CA-based ClickAction. Newport News, one of the Spiegel Group Lifestyle Retailers, launched its Web site in June 1999 and had conducted all email marketing efforts internally.
“We have a strong catalog business and aggressive goals for building our email subscriber base through cross-channel promotions,” said Newport News president and CEO George Ittner in a statement. Newport News plans to offer catalog customers a variety of sweepstakes, shopping sprees and viral marketing offers to encourage customers to sign up to receive its electronic offerings.
