Wise Foods, Inc. has signed a multi-tiered sponsorship deal with the New York Mets, giving the salty snack maker extensive presence at Shea Stadium and on the team’s Spanish-language radio broadcast.
The three-year deal makes Wise the Official Potato Chip of the Mets, and the exclusive supplier of Wise potato chips, New York Deli kettle chips and Cheez Doodles for all Mets home games.
Wise will also be the sponsor of the Mets’ starting lineup, and the official sponsor of team shortstop Jose Reyes, who will be known as the team’s “Wise Player.”
As part of the sponsorship, Wise will also have extensive signage in center field; frequent radio spots on every Mets Spanish-language radio broadcast; and will host a range of charity and other special events for the community during the season.
Wise will leverage its sponsorship by sampling potato chips, kettle chips and Cheez Doodles to attendees of the team’s Fan Fest, an interactive carnival held before home games. Wise will conduct sampling July 2 and 23, Aug. 7 and 21 and Sept. 17.
Also, on July 17 and 23 and Aug. 6, fans will receive a free bag of chips or Cheez Doodles with any hot dog or Subway sandwich purchase.
