NEW YAHOO MARKETING POLICIES CREATE A STIR

Meanwhile, Sunnyvale, CA-based Yahoo, Inc.’s decision to alter existing privacy policies created a stir among the Internet portal’s registered users after the changes, many of whom expressed anger after the changes were announced last week.

The new policies allow Yahoo to share personal data of members with various third parties, and will require users who previously have requested to be left off marketing lists to opt out all over again. Yahoo worked with San Jose, CA-based Truste, a nonprofit company specializing in online privacy, to develop the new policies.
