Men Shop, But Women Buy Insurance Online
Men typically shop for insurance online but it’s women who end up buying, according to a recent analysis of American consumers who have accessed the RightQuote (www.rightquote.com) Web site.
More men frequent RightQuote to obtain insurance information and quotes. But the number of women who actually submit applications for policies is almost double that of men, according to Michael D. Levison, chief executive officer of Coverdell & Co., the Atlanta-based financial marketing firm behind RightQuote.
Each month an average 15,000 online shoppers visit RightQuote. Typically, around 80% of these visitors are men. Some browse, others get free quotes, and some buy policies.
But an analysis of purchaser characteristics revealed that 35% of them were women.
