Warner Bros.’ Kids WB! last week kicked off a five-city theme park tour to showcase its fall line-up of shows.
The Kids WB! Crash the Backlot Tour travels to Six Flags parks with a screening room to preview new shows, including The Batman; a sound studio where kids can dub their voices for Kids WB! cartoons; an animation lab; and a main stage that hosts audition contests that will award walk-on roles.
Tour sponsor Microsoft hosts the Xbox Video Game Arena. Eventive Marketing, New York City, handles for Los Angeles-based Kids WB!; the tour will run again in fall 2005 and 2006 in at least 13 markets.
“The Backlot Tour takes our series [The Batman] to another level for kids by actually making them part of the animation experience, letting them discover our shows and interact with our characters in a whole new way,” said Warner Bros. Animation VP-Marketing Frank Keating in a statement.
The tour is expected to reach 1 million visitors on its 20-day route through Jackson, NJ; Springfield, MA; Chicago; San Francisco; and Los Angeles.
