KarstadtQuelle AG, the German cataloger and retailer, will cut around 1,000 jobs at its troubled mail order division, according to wire service reports.
According to sources, the job cuts will take place in the first quarter of next year. CEO Thomas Middelhoff said last week he wanted to slash costs at the mail order business by 20% to put the unit back on track.
