JetBlue, American Express Partner For Loyalty Card

Posted on

JetBlue Airways and American Express are teaming up to release a co-branded credit card this summer that will let card members earn reward dollars that can be converted into points under the airline’s Flight Gratitude program, TrueBlue.

The JetBlue Card from American Express is designed to help consumers earn travel awards sooner and attract new customers. The partnership is the first of its kind for JetBlue, which is extending its relationship with American Express as a merchant and as a partner in its Membership Rewards program. JetBlue has accepted American Express cards since its launch in 2000.

“JetBlue is committed to finding new and innovative ways to offer our customers more ways to save and partnering with American Express will enable us to do just that,” said David Neeleman, JetBlue’s CEO in a statement. “JetBlue saw immediate success with its relationship with Membership Rewards and now we can expand beyond that success with the new JetBlue Card from American Express.”

The new card let’s members convert award dollars into TrueBlue points that can be redeemed for JetBlue flights. The card, which will include a low annual fee, will provide consumers a variety of ways to earn award dollars.

Consumers can sign up to learn more about the card by logging on to Jetbluecard.com and entering their e-mail address. TrueBlue members will be among the first to receive card details and an application. JetBlue has not yet released a date when the new card will launch.

“Our partnership with JetBlue is another way we can offer consumers rewards products to fit their lifestyle with brands that have their loyalty,” said Al Kelly, group president U.S. consumer and small business services for American Express in a statement. “JetBlue is one of America’s fastest growing, most innovative airlines, and its commitment to quality customer service is a perfect complement to the American Express brand. Our new JetBlue Card will give JetBlue flyers the best of both brands.”
