Income, Revenue Up for PC Mall

PC Mall Inc. generated first-quarter income of $1.9 million, a turnaround from the $55,000 loss it took in first-quarter 2006. The company’s net sales rose from $234.2 million to $256.8 million during the same period. The quarter ended March 31.

The company attributed its fortunes during the quarter to a combination of sales growth and savings due reduced labor costs in its Philippine operations. Additionally, commercial (non-government) sales to small- and medium-sized businesses rose 18%, including a single sale of $11.4 million to a single customer.

PC Mall sells a variety of technology to businesses, consumers, institutions and government entities through catalogs, a variety of Web sites, direct marketing and relationship-based sales.
