Groupon has promoted Chris Muhr, who was the company’s senior vice president of sales, to be its head of international efforts in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Julie Mossler, a spokeswoman for Groupon, said the daily-deals company is changing its management structure to “flatten” its global organization, in order to make the company faster and more efficient. This move comes in the face of challenges in Europe. Meanwhile, Groupon also named Peter Merholz, co-founder of Adaptive Path, its vice president of global design. The company is hoping that he can help the company translate its focus on customers into “shockingly great design.” (Bloomberg, Groupon)
