Google and Yahoo Make It Official: Lead Generation Is Huge

Posted on

FunnelIf you’re in the business of generating leads and are in need of some encouragement, look no farther than Google and Yahoo, two of the Internet’s giants. Google launched Google Advisor earlier this year to monetize the personal finance vertical. It followed that up by launching a new lead-generation-style AdWords format and acquiring BeatThatQuote.com. Yahoo, on the other hand, recently unveiled a cost-per-lead ad unit aptly named “Cost-Per-Lead for Search Ads.” This ad format collects demographic information from potential leads and vets information typed into these fields before passing on leads to advertisers. The moves of these bellwethers send a clear message: “online lead generation has hit the big time.” (Econsultancy)
