GameTap Launches Sweepstakes

Internet videogame maker GameTap has launched a new sweepstakes that offers the grand-prize winner a VIP trip to the Download Festival in San Francisco this fall.

Consumers can enter the Road to Download sweepstakes online at gametap.com or downloadfestival.com. One grand-prize winner will get a trip for two to the Download Festival, hotel accommodations, a meet and greet with Download artists and a GameTap gift pack, including a 30-day subscription. Runner-up prizes include 250 free 30-day subscriptions to GameTap and 150 GameTap baseball hats.

The Download Festival, the U.K.’s premier music and technology festival, will debut for the first time in the U.S. in October. Artists include The Killers, Modest Mouse, the Arcade Fire, Doves and cutting-edge technology and media experiences.

“The Download Festival audience is uniquely plugged in to the latest technology, and uniquely passionate about the music they love,” said Bruce Eskowitz, president of Clear Channel Entertainment Properties, in a statement. “Sponsors have the opportunity to connect brands with truly meaningful experiences on multiple platforms for a highly influential audience.”

The sweepstakes runs through Sept. 19. Winners will be selected on Sept. 20. Internet materials support.
