E.U. Lawmakers Examine Google’s Plans for Doubleclick

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

The European Parliament plans to conduct hearings in January to examine issues related to Google’s plans to acquire online advertising tracker Doubleclick, according to wire service reports.

Lawmakers in the European Union are expected to focus on personal data collection practices, privacy and how a takeover of Doubleclick would affect the Internet advertising marketplace. Issues likely to be discussed include data sharing, standards, competition and consumer protections.

This inquiry reportedly should be finished by April 2.
