Disney, Rand McNally Team Up for Family Guide

Walt Disney Parks and Resorts and Rand McNally & Co. have teamed up to launch a co-branded guide and atlas with a sweepstakes overlay dangling a chance to win a Disney vacation.

The two are co-promoting the release of Rand McNally’s first Family Adventure Guide and Interstate Atlas. The guide includes a list of family attractions, lodging information and free family activities. The two companies joined forces after a Rand McNally 2006 Great American Road Trip survey found that Disney Parks are the No. 1 destination choice for family vacations.

Promotional copies will include a free pocket guide to Disney Parks and a chance to win a trip for four to Walt Disney World Resort or Disneyland Resort. Consumers enter a code from the guide at RandMcNally.eprize.net/familysweeps. Once online, visitors wave a virtual magic wand to see how many sweepstakes entries they have earned.

Five grand-prize winners will receive a trip for four to the Walt Disney World Resort, or a trip for four to Disneyland Resort. The prize package includes airfare, hotel accommodations, park passes and $250 in spending money.

“Rand McNally and Disney are two of America’s most iconic brands,” Kendra Ensor, VP-national travel at Rand McNally, said in a statement. “Our collaboration shows our shared commitment to helping families create memorable, easy-to-plan vacations. And since Disney is the number one destination for families, it seemed logical to include a Pocket Guide to Disney with the atlas.”

The sweepstakes runs through April 30, 2007. P-O-P, online ads and p.r. support. Pleasant Ridge, MI-based ePrize handles.
